A Day in the Life of Dinagat Island Rep. Arlene “Kaka” Bag-ao

It is said that you will never know someone unless you, yourself, get involved in that someone’s life. This is especially true among your acquaintances, your friends, your celebrity idols, your favorite writers, your crushes and the like.

But do ever try imagine interviewing a politician whom people usually don’t know about and create many stereotypes because some say they do not mingle with the normal people? I bet you do and it is all just left with your imagination.

Two days before, my imagination and “dream” of interviewing a politician came to life as I learned the life of Dinagat Islands Rep. Arlene “Kaka” Bag-ao for a day in the House of Representatives. Thanks to Mr. Jeff Crisostomo, Rep. Bag-ao’s legislative media officer, who is my contact person to interview his boss and planned the schedule.

Below is a 12-minute+ video interview with Rep. Bag-ao and those people who knew her well. This video is to satisfy my assignment (yes, assignment only) for Journalism 105 – Investigative Reporting under Prof. Sheila Pesayco. This in relation to the topic, Probing the Congress.
